Houghton Wesleyan chapel, Australia

This sandstone chapel is situated in the town of Houghton, near to Adelaide, Australia. It was sold after the formation of the Uniting Church of Australia – that amalgamated many Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregationalist churches – in 1977. The Uniting Church continues to worship in the town’s Congregationalist chapel (built in 1875), while the Wesleyan (Methodist) chapel that was built in 1866 is now a private residence.
